A word from the Head

Westbourne Primary School is a true community school.  Many parents and grandparents were pupils here and together share a real sense of community spirit and pride in our school.  As part of this, we are always looking for ways to make learning ‘irresistible’ and creating as many opportunities as possible for the children to engage, develop, innovate and express their learning.

Our motto is ‘Enter to Learn, Learn to Achieve’ and it is our driving force behind our work at school and in the community.  We want all our community to achieve and we set this ambitious aim.  Parents and families are invited into school on a regular basis to share their children’s learning and become part of our school.  We all learn together, making sure our children adapt to new challenges, find inspiration, develop their curiosity and work creatively which is key to our approach, meaning children experience many successes and get the maximum benefit from their time with us.

We have a fabulous staff team who go above and beyond to give our children the best life chances.  Our staff are regularly asked to work with other schools in the Trust and beyond.  We have a range of specialist staff and a number of our staff are Specialist Leaders in Education in their chosen fields.  It is a privilege to work with such a talented and committed staff.

We have invested heavily in our school site with new playgrounds, state of the art Research Centre, Cookery Room, Art Room and Science Lab to name but a few.

I hope you will join us on our journey and help us to keep Westbourne’s place in the heart of the community.
