Peer Mentoring

This year a peer mentoring system was set up as another form of support for our pupils.  Pupils in Years 5 and 6 apply at the beginning of the year to be a peer mentor and those who are selected spend time training with staff to help them with their role.

Our peer mentors are positive role models to all our pupils but spend dedicated time with children who need extra support and encouragement.  We hope as this support continues, we will see an improvement in self-esteem, confidence, communication skills and problem-solving skills in the children involved.

“I applied to be a mentor because I like helping people.  The training sessions made me feel confident about interacting with my mentee”

– Raisah (Year 6)
